Call me Newt. I am a people painter, world crafter, and curiosities curator of sanguine temperament. Some years ago—never mind how long precisely—having a restlessness in my soul and in my hands, I set out upon growing a garden in some overgrown corner of the sprawling internet. This space was created to share my art, writings, comics, stories, worldbuilding, and other such miscellany of my own creation.
I am an art history and medieval literature student with an eye and love for the strange, historical, speculative, and creative, which affects my art. I also have a soft heart for labyrinths, linguistics, karst landscapes, the history of textiles, monasteries, heretics and gnostics, Victorian fashions, and indulgent prose.

Used on this website is the French Republican Calendar, inherited from the revolutionaries from the Gregorian years 1793 to 1805 and used also during the brief Paris Commune of 1871. There are twelve months, with thirty days in each. When I write the date it is composed: day of the month, then month, then the year in Roman numerals. “An” is the French word for year.
The most prominent font is the wonderful EB Garamond.
Header text is in Basteleur by Keussel as part of the Velvetyne Type Foundry.
Occasionally also used is Mea Culpa.
