Image description: An etching print of Roald Amundsen viewed from the shoulders up, dressed in furs. He looks down with a solemn frown and holds on his shoulders a polar bear cub (Marie). She turns her head to look up at the dark sky. Behind them shines a 22° halo and two sun dogs. End ID.
Saint Christopher
Vendémiaire CCXXXIV, etching on paper.
It’s not easy to make friends with Marie, but it may happen. I carry her now, whenever I want, but then I have to make sure to hold her head otherwise she would bite. She is constantly feuding with the dogs. The little thing is not afraid.
